What is a Manufactured Home Certification and why do you need it?
A Manufactured Home Certification Inspection, also known as a HUD Inspection, is a structural inspection to confirm the following:
1.The home must be properly tied down on a permanent foundation.
2.Drainage around the house.
3.Additions cannot be supported by the structure of the Manufactured Home.
4.The Manufactured Home cannot have been moved from another location (1stPermanent Location)
A manufactured home is NOT a mobile home or a trailer.
Manufactured homes built on or after June 15,1976 are built in accordance to HUD Guidelines.
Who will need this certification? Clients who apply for the following;

Manufactured Home Additions
Some lenders may ask for additions to be
included with your foundation certification inspection. What is an "addition" ? Additions are any structure or building that are up against the home whether attached or not. These may include - decks-steps - carports roof overhangs-sheds alongside outer wall. etc. Additions are a separate charge and includes all additions if requested. The fee is $150 for all the additions with your foundation certification. |
